Which side are you casting your net on?

We can choose Jesus’ way or our own way. We have a choice.

Which side are you casting your net on?

In John 21:6 Jesus says “Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get plenty of fish!”  When the disciples recognized Jesus, and listened things began to change for them.  They came up with their nets so full that they couldn’t draw it in. When we recognize and listen to the voice of God and we live our lives as He directs, we will come up with plenty. Jesus’ way is always better.

Who of us hasn’t been like the disciples? They fished all night to come up with nothing but when they heard and recognized the voice of God things began to change.  I have done so many things MY way and left Jesus out but what I have learned time and time again is how rewarding it is when we listen and obey His commands.  I want to recognize His voice in my life and follow His commands because over and over God has proven to me this is the best way.  That doesn’t always mean we will have everything we want or desire but when we listen to HIM we have a peace in our heart that guides all that we do and all that we have is enough.  It’s a peace I want all my life!  That peace is what gets you through rough times, good times, all times.  Who of us hasn’t done things our way and felt like we live in chaos.  The bible says “For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33).  His desire is for us to live in peace abiding in Him.

Choose today to listen to the voice of God and be obedient to His leading, cast your net where He directs.  You are sure to come up with plenty when you do.

Lord, help us today to know and listen for Your voice. Lord, I pray that we choose Your way over our own way. Lord, Your will be done in our life. Amen.
