We are called to be women “For such a time as this”

Again in the book of Esther.

I believe there is so much in this small book of the Bible that we can apply to our lives.

While studying, this particular verse stood out to me, Esther 8:3 “Now once more Esther came before the king, falling down at his feet begging him with tears to stop Haman’s evil plot against the Jews.” If you know the story of Esther then you know this led to Haman’s death not the Jews, her people, the Jews were saved. When I read this my thoughts were, this is exactly what we are called to do, fall down at our Kings feet on behalf of our people? What an example that is for us! She stepped in at just the right time and interceded for her people. Lives were changed, lives were saved because of her willingness to step in. Her actions, her obedience, her trust in God saved her people from death and the effects lasted for generations to come.

This is where we as women, as wives, as mothers, and grandmothers are called to step in. We are called to intercede for our people through prayer.

Esther shows us, it will save lives, save our families for generations. Our kids, our kids kids will be blessed! What an enormous call we have.

The first time I experienced the power of prayer I was 16. I became pregnant at that young age. I was so scared. I prayed, I pleaded, I begged God for an answer, “Lord, can I do this? Can I, can we, raise this baby?”.  This was the first time I clearly heard and recognized His voice. Honestly this is when my true intimate relationship began with God. I learned then, prayer works. I had no idea the true impact prayer could have on our families but from that moment my trust in God began to grow more and more. I began learning how good, how faithful, how amazing God is.

I’m so thankful God will never leave nor forsake us. I’m so thankful He restored me & has been with me every step of the way. Now 18 years later this sweet child of mine has been a life changer for me. I’m so thankful God allowed me to be her mom. So then, at 16, I learned loud and clear, prayer works. Now I’m still feeling the impact of that prayer when I see these sweet girls every day. God is so good!

Studying Esther has made me look back and see how God has worked in my life, see the answered prayers. It has taught me to be persistent, never stop praying for my spouse and my kids. I may not see right now what the outcome of those prayers are but I trust God enough that He is hearing and His word says He will answer. He has always been faithful to me and I know He always will.

So let us go to the Lord with a sincere and pure heart and know He will hear our prayers. James 5:16 says, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” Our prayers will be effective in our families lives! Pray until…..until the breakthrough comes.

May we be like Esther standing in the gap, falling down at the Kings feet and pleading on the behalf of our people. Wives, mothers, grandmothers that will be prayer warriors for our families!

Psalm 112:2 Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed.

John 14:13-14 You can ask anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!

Eph. 6:18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

I pray this encourages you,

Michelle
