Reading in Mark chapter six. Jesus is sending out the twelve disciples two by two. They were to go out and preach repentance, cast out demons and anoint with oil those who were sick and in need of healing.

Picking up in verse 30….

“The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told him all they had done and taught. Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat. So they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭6‬:‭30‬-‭32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is where it really spoke to me. So many times we are busy taking care of the daily, our families, our jobs, our ministy that we forget it’s ok to rest. Jesus taught rest. When is there time to rest though? We tend to think we can just keep pushing through, give it all I’ve got, until before we know it our tank is empty. We haven’t rested. We haven’t had a sabbath, a time of refreshing, getting refilled and refueled. We feel rushed and irritated all the time because we refuse to just stop.
If you feel like it’s been a long road, don’t miss the “rest area” sign. Take the exit and take a rest.

I believe Jesus knew best and He rested from ministry and daily activities, so should we.
I’m committing to resting time, in Jesus’s love, siting in His presence and getting refueled for my next send out! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
