While walking this morning, I realized our pear trees are bearing fruit. Now, I don’t know much about trees, I couldn’t tell you what kind of tree it was until it begins to bear the fruit that it was created to bear. There’s no doubt with this one, it has limbs hanging down where the fruit is so heavy.
I couldn’t help but think this scripture,
““A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad.” Matthew 12:33 NLT
If a tree is good, it will have good fruit on it. It got me thinking about my life. Praying that the fruit is evident. What is that fruit that should be evident in our lives? The fruit of the spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. I want to be like this pear tree where my limbs are heavy with the fruit. We will never produce this kind of fruit apart from spending time in God‘s Word and His presence. We cannot make it grow on our own. It only comes from spending time in God‘s Word where good seeds get planted deep inside our hearts.
““This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is God’s word.” Luke 8:11 NLT
Does our life bear the fruit of the Spirit? Spend time in God’s Word today, get in His presence. What you will find is the sweet aroma of fruit!
