Thinking about the holiday we just celebrated and the freedom is represents.   What about freedom in Jesus?

John 8:32 says “And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” Freedom comes when we know the truth. The truth is Jesus.  We get to know Jesus as we learn His word. 

Why do we need to know the truth?  To be able to fight the fiery arrows of the devil. We have to know the word.  Ephesians 6 tells us to be able to fight off the devil we “take up the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.” That is our weapon for fighting off the devil so we don’t get tricked into believing the lies he will try and tell us.  When we know the truth, when we know Jesus, we no longer allow satans arrows, words, actions etc. to have a hold on us.  WE ARE FREE! FREE IN JESUS, knowing who HE says we are! Thank you Jesus for that freedom! #setfree
