In Deuteronomy 10:12-22 it tells us, “He requires you to fear Him, to live according to His will, to love & worship Him with all your heart & soul, & to obey the Lords commands.”
•Fear God- Respect Him, He comes first no matter what.
•To live according to His will-Seek God’s plan above your own.
•To love Him- Love Him above everyone & everything else.
•To worship Him-Recognize all that He has done & glorify and praise Him.
•Obey His commands-Do what you know is right, be obedient.
I was amazed by this scripture. It is so clear and simple. So why do we make it so hard? We live in such a fast paced world these days. It’s hard to find time to spend with God, to learn His word, to worship Him daily. Most of us these days have full time jobs, kids, sports activities, school activities, even church activities can take much of our time. We are all fighting for more time and usually what suffers in the busyness of our lives are the things that matter the most. Our relationship with God and time with our family.
Most of us need to slow the pace of our lives and refocus on what matters. We need to committ daily to be in conversation with Him, to listen, and to be in His word if we are going to learn what it is He requires of us. The same goes for our families.
I’m commiting to slow the pace and spend quality time with HIM and my family.
Take time today to read the rest of Deuteronomy 10:12-22 it is sure to be a blessing!
