Reading the Christmas story this morning. I can’t stop thinking about Mary. I can’t imagine what she felt. I’m amazed at the commitment she made as a young girl. What a task she had.

What would we have done if we were in Mary’s shoes? I’m afraid to answer that.

It got me thinking, am I willing to accept any task the Lord puts in front of me?

Ask yourself that same question.

Do we believe God is able to use us? Do we believe God can use us, redeem us and our story?

In Luke 1:34, Mary’s reply to the angel when she was told she would be blessed with a baby was, “But how can I have a baby? I am a virgin.”

Do we sometimes have the same response, “But how, God?” You know the Lord has a plan for you or something He wants you to do but you want to know, How, God? You’ve been praying for your marriage to be saved, But how can it be, God? You’ve been praying for that rebellious teenager, But how, God? You’ve been praying for a job, for healing, or that lost relative. What we to need remember is, “For nothing is impossible with God. Luke 1:37”

In verse 35 it says, “that the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the most high will overshadow you.” That’s what will happen for us in our marriages, our kids lives, and our situations when we submit them to the Lord, as Mary did her life.

Mary’s final response in Luke 1:38 was, “I am the Lord’s servant, and I am willing to accept whatever he wants.”

What has God shown you or told you? What are you asking from the Lord? Submit and let your response be a “Mary”response.

My prayer is that today each of us would make this our prayer. Lord, I am your servant and I am willing to accept whatever you want for my life.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas,

Michelle
