Have you ever felt God telling you to do something, or know God has a specific plan but you sit by waiting for God to just make things happen, to open doors, to do all the work? I have been there. Just sitting comfortably by waiting on God. All the time He was waiting on me.
I am reading about Joshua leading the people of Israel into the Promised land. They were given specific instructions on how to possess it. One of them was to cross the Jordan. The priests, carrying the Ark of the Covenant, were to go first and once their feet touched the water the flow of water would be cut off and the water would heap up making a path for them to cross on. What if they would have been afraid to take that step? They wouldn’t have moved forward, they would have been camped out on the opposite side of the promise. There would be something between them and the promise.
Thankfully the priest were obedient and once they put their feet in the water it heaped up and they were all able to cross. There just might be others that are affected from your obedience. The priest had to be obedient for them all to cross. Will your kids be blessed from your obedience? Your marriage? Absolutely they will. What step is God calling you to take? What river is standing in the way? Go ahead and be obedient and take that step, He is calling you into something more. The promise He has shown you is on the other side of your obedience.
Before He walks you into the promise He has to walk you through the process. Don’t camp out where He has called you to pass through!
