“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Romans 12:2 NLT
To be transformed is to make a thorough or dramatic change in the form, appearance, or character of.
As God was speaking to me about being transformed I thought of how a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, it goes through stages. First the baby caterpillar has to break out of its shell. Then it sheds its skin so to say. There is a rebuilding that takes place at this stage. When it is ready it spreads its wings and leaves the comfortable place it’s been.
There comes a time for us, as Christians, that we must break out of our shell. A time that we leave our cozy place of comfort and step out into what God is calling us to do. Most of the time you just have to do it scared.
Next, comes a time that you shed some things. Your life is changing and there’s some things that don’t fit your lifestyle anymore. You’ve got to be willing to shed some things to be able to move on to the next phase of your transformation.
After the shedding the caterpillar begins a rebuilding stage, this is where it turns into a butterfly. We have to go through a rebuilding stage, we are not who we used to be. We look totally different than before. God is making us into more of an image of Himself.
Now comes the time when the butterfly breaks out, spreads its wings and begins to fly. It has to leave where it’s been. Leave and take flight. How scary that sounds.
I’ve been at a place in my life where God said GO. It’s time to go, to leave my comfort, to leave my security, to leave my routine, to leave what I knew. Honestly, I wrestled with God about it. Why? Everything was going great, I loved where I was but God had clearly said GO.
After wrestling with God for some time I accepted that I would go. I had no idea what the next step was just this one, go. This was my reading from my devotional on that exact day….
To go somewhere else, you have to leave where you are. You have to leave what’s known, what’s comfortable, what’s predictable, and what’s easy. To step toward your destiny, you may have to step away from your security.
If that wasn’t confirmation right there!
I’m a year in, almost to the day, on the other side and I have seen glimpses of what God is doing and why I had to GO!
I encourage you to allow God to continue doing the transforming work in you. Whatever that looks like. Do it scared. Whatever stage your in just be obedient.
Praying if God is stirring in you that you be willing to do whatever it is God is calling you to. He is transforming you!
When God does transformational work in us, he begins transforming the world through us. The world needs who you were created to be!

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”
