Brazen to Bombshell

“Breaking out of average and becoming the flame bearer He created you to be.”

Brazen, we don’t really hear that word much in today’s culture but when we look into its meaning it appears we are surrounded by a brazen society. The definition of brazen, “bold and without shame.” Bold and
without shame is now wildly celebrated. Jeremiah 8:12 highlights this brazen behavior “Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed, Nor did they know how
to blush.” And that is where we are. This is the wicked mindset of our day and age.
We must acknowledge what we as women of faith are up against to ensure that we nor our offspring fall into this mindset of brass. Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said, “To see evil and not call it evil is evil.” We must acknowledge the brazen mindset of this age and do our wherewithal
to combat its creeping into our homes and communities. Romans 12:1
tells us to “be not conformed to the world” but be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

We all know how Satan craves God’s position. Everything he does is a
an extremely cheap imitation of God’s accomplishments. That is the
very reason God kicked Satan out of heaven, Satan wanted to be God.
God is the creator of all things. Satan cannot create he can only corrupt. God made us in His image and likeness, it is Satan’s chief
joy to destroy that image. He wants to conform and contort into the
image of bondage. Into the image of the world. We were created to imitate God. Ephesians 5:1 tells us to be imitators of God. We are designed to become what we focus on. A problem erupts when we focus on
the wrong things/people. Monkey see, monkey do. What we see we do. We
become what we behold.

As we look unto Jesus the Author and finisher of our faith we gain new
strength, fresh wind in our sails to run the race with endurance.
However, in Satan’s disgusting destructive ways, he desires to shift our gaze to the empty jewels of this earth. If he can capture our gaze, he can eventually capture our heart. If Satan can capture our
heart, he can make us proud, obstinate, and foolishly brazen women.
God wants us to have tender, pliable hearts. Satan wants the exact opposite.

As women we can set the standards of our atmosphere. Our assignment is
huge. If we do not set a righteous precedent for our environment the enemy will gladly step in and bring his influence. We watch with mouths agape as we see the moral fabric of society rapidly unraveling
to reveal immense perversion, deception, and utter foolishness.
Increasingly we are seeing women drop the ball. Moms have gone from standing in the gap to staring at cell phones in their laps. Women have placed the temporal hobbies of children in higher regard than the
eternal state of their hearts. So many have laid down the torch of Charisma and picked up the bottle of Chardonnay. They have chosen popularity over Pentecost. The harvest from these decisions has been
detrimental in our homes, communities, and world! Women, our choices really do matter!

As we look closer at our own hearts, we find pieces of brazen that have crept in. Rare it will be for a completely brazen woman to sit
down and complete this study. What we find is that, as sojourners in this world, flakes of brass attempt to settle in our hearts
unaware. Let us all search our hearts diligently for any trace of brazen, repent and find the healing that we need to step into glorious renewal!
