Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!”
Acts of the Apostles 16:25-26 NLT
Paul and Silas were preaching and proclaiming Christ and ended up in jail, can you imagine? Then, despite this outcome they continued praying and worshiping. Put yourself in their shoes, you get thrown in jail for proclaiming Jesus and then still continue praying and praising.
As they prayed and worshipped, I can only imagine the sound. I wonder what their inmates were thinking. I’m sure they had no idea what was about to take place. I’m sure they had no idea that Paul and Silas were ushering the presence of God in that place.
That night the presence of God set the captives free, every one of them! If you read on the jailer ended up getting saved as well as his household that night. Lives were saved and set free!
The presence of God will do that! Prison doors will fling open for us! Lives will be changed in the presence of God.
We’ve gotta see our prayer lives matter and our worship life matters. The people we surround ourselves matter.
Many peoples lives were changed that night in a prison because of Paul and Silas’ prayers and worship. It matters who you’re around. Someone may get free, keep praying, keep praising, no matter your situation.
I’ve seen chains fall in the presence of God. I’ve experienced my own chains fall off.
Get in His presence! Get around those whom you know host His presence. It matters!
I’m believing to see many chains fall and entire households to be saved in these days!
Praying, In Jesus Name!
