Getting my focus back

We live in such a fast paced world these days, people have so much to do that we don’t have enough time for God. When we don’t spend time with Him our focus gets off and before we know it we are totally disconnected and living for the world rather than God. I catch myself getting so busy that my mornings get rushed and I truly don’t spend the time with God that I need to sustain me for the day. Honestly, I can say most days I will spend more time on Facebook than with God throughout the day. Facebook will not bring the peace that my time with God will. I’m committing to getting back to making sure my days are in order. God gets my first, God gets my best, God gets the most of my time. I’m committing to getting back to turning the phone off and spending true quality time with Him. This is something the Lord has been putting on my heart for a while and until now I haven’t been obedient.

Today my reading in Joel, Amos and Obadiah confirmed this to me. There is a message when you read them you will continue to hear, God’s judgement on those that continue to turn their back on Him. God had given them all chances to turn back to Him but after worshiping idols and continuing to live in sin His judgment did come.

My concern is, do we live in a Nation today that believe’s God’s judgment will never come? I’m scared we may. Do we live in a nation now that many people don’t even realize the sin in their lives or their worship to something other than God? Like maybe Facebook time and no God time? Do we live in a time that people don’t realize they are putting things before God, worshiping idols, and don’t even see it? Are we people who still pray, “Search me Oh God?” That needs to be our prayer so that we can see sin in our lives. Don’t be blinded by the worldly things, we need to pray for spiritual eyes. Let’s see in the spiritual realm. I’m committing to getting back to saying “Search me Oh God?” Committing that worldly things will not get my attention before my creator, my Father, the one who gave up His child for me gets my attention. Getting my eyes fixed back on Him. Getting my focus back where it needs to be. If you are like me and maybe have gotten your focus a little off, join me in turning the phone off and back to spending the quality time needed with our Father.
