The steps of the Godly are directed by the Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 37:23-24
Hands have always been something I look at on people. I love looking at how different hands look. I will never forget what my dads hands looked like. I could pick my husbands hands out of lineup, I know them. My maw-maw’s hands are engraved in my mind. I believe our hands tell a story. Imagine what all a set of hands have done in a lifetime. They are used to hold your child for the first time, they are used to teach and discipline your children, to love your children, to hold their hand and lead them, to comfort them, to pat them on the back. In marriage there is the joining of hands, the father passes his daughters hand to her future husband. Those hands are used to work and provide for the family, they are used to feed the family. Our hands are used to praise and pray to our Heavenly Father. So many uses. Our hands truly tell a story.
This morning I was reminded of all the times I can see the hand of God on my life. There were times I had no idea God was working but years later when I look back I could see Him in my situation. There have been times I absolutely knew God was leading me by the hand. The closer I get to Him the more and more I recognize His hands. I’m so thankful for the hand of God on my life, the leading, the guiding, the protecting, the correction, the encouraging and strengthening that have come from the hand of God. Those are hands I never want to forget or quit holding onto.
Take a moment and think back to when you can see God’s hand on your life. It’s so good for the soul to remember those times. God is so good and faithful.
If you find yourself in a situation that maybe you are afraid, unsure, or just not at peace about just grab the hand that is always there for you. Remember, His word says His hand will not let the Godly fall. He is there, allow Him to lead and guide you.
Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Lord, help us to always hold onto your hand. Help us to always accept your guidance, your correction, and your encouragement.
In Jesus Name, Amen
