Pull back the curtain

Reading and studying Ephesians 6 again this afternoon. I have experienced personally, as many of you have, that putting on this armor Paul is talking about truly works against the enemy.

“Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:11-12 NLT

The enemy is prowling about. We must be alert. We must recognize him.

“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 NLT

He is out to steal our joy, wear us out and knock us down. We’ve got to realize what we are facing and thankfully the Bible tells us how to stand our ground with the enemy.

We’ve got to pull back the curtain on the enemy. Imagine a child watching a puppet show?

All they see are the puppets talking back and forth to each other. If they only knew what was behind that curtain controlling those puppets.

What if our child is acting out and we pull back the curtain? We find out what the problem really is, we don’t just look at the surface. We pray, we seek God on our child’s behalf. We ask, Holy Spirit, show me what’s going on in the heart of my child. We resist the enemy and He must flee.

What if our marriage is on the rocks and we pull back the curtain? Will we see the enemy trying to build anger, bitterness, division between us and our spouse? We must pray daily for our marriage and for our spouse and remember, we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood. Pray, stand firm, knowing Christ came to reconcile. He can reconcile a marriage on the rocks.

What if we have been feeling down lately and we pull back the curtain? We will see the enemy trying to pull us away from God, trying to discourage us and wear us out. We put on the helmet of salvation knowing who we are, child of God. Take up the sword of the Spirit and began to fight off the enemy. He has no choice but to flee!

During these uncertain times we are in, we’ve got to pull back the curtain, see the enemy for who he is and stand our ground. Not today satan, not ever. We’ve got to be fighting for our marriage and our children in prayer. We are prayer warriors!

“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Put your armor on ladies, we are in a fight that we are guaranteed to win!
