Praying momma

Reading about the widows son who got sick and passed away in 1 Kings 17. She brought her son to Elijah, the Bible says he had no more breath in him. He had passed away. This is what Elijah did….

“And he said to her, “Give me your son.” So he took him out of her arms and carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his own bed. Then he cried out to the LORD and said, “O LORD my God, have You also brought tragedy on the widow with whom I lodge, by killing her son?” And he stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to the LORD and said, “O LORD my God, I pray, let this child’s soul come back to him.” Then the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back to him, and he revived.” 1 Kings 17:19-22 NKJV

I know so many parents have faced something similar to what this widow was facing. Maybe not a physical death of your child but a situation where you would say this isn’t the same child I raised. Some would say they don’t even know who their child is anymore. So many lost children.

This story is encouraging for our momma hearts. Pray for them babies. If after one prayer you don’t see it, go back, pray it again and again and again. Keep praying momma. Elijah laid across the child. We need to lay across the floor on our face for those babies. It’s a huge calling momma. Those early mornings you don’t feel like getting up to pray, do it anyway. It will pay off. Maybe we need to pray like Elijah, “O LORD my God, I pray, let this child’s soul come back to him.”

Maybe we need to call someone to pray with us but remember it matters who you call to pray for your babies. You call on somebody that you know will be praying for your babies. The Bible says:

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16 NKJV

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” James 5:14-15 NKJV

It matters who is praying over your babies. It says the prayer of a righteous man avails much, not just any man, a righteous man. It says call on a elder of the church. Call on someone that has walked through more life than you have, that lives according to The Word. It matters who you call.

The widow called on the prophet Elijah. It made a difference. Your prayers will make a difference. The Bible also says:

“So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.””Acts 16:31 NKJV

Claim this! Your family will be saved, everyone of them!

Praying mommas are what God has called us to be. Let’s be prayer warriors on our kids behalf!
