Joshua 1:1-3, 5-8 After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you—No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.“Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
As I have been reading and studying, the Lord has continued to show me the word VICTORY. Today as I was studying, I thought of victory in battle. I began reading in Joshua. Joshua was a faithful warrior. He was a warrior that followed instructions which led to victory. I believe God is looking for more warriors like Joshua to arise. We cannot fail when we listen, obey and do things God’s way. We are successful when we have a submissive spirit to the Lord and are obedient. Joshua was obedient and God said, NO ONE will be able to stand against you, For I WILL be with you. I WILL NOT abandon you. You will be successful in everything you do. This is God’s promise to us also when we stand in obedience to Him. He said to study the book of the Law, meditate on it day and night so we can obey everything in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
Are we a generation, are we raising a generation to meditate on the word, to know the word? We must teach the next generation to know the Word. They will be taught something, and we want to know that it will be the Word of God. We can’t afford to miss that call. We each have that call on our lives. Do our kids know the importance of knowing the Word? We want our kids to stand in victory. We want to stand in victory. Obedience to God and His word is the key.
Reading on in chapter 6 of Joshua we see that Joshua was given specific direction on how to defeat Jericho. He followed every instruction, not thinking one was not important, God said it, so he was set to obey. He was told to march around six days one time a day, on the seventh day march 7 times around, blowing horns and on the long blow give a shout. What happened? The walls fell, they were victorious. Just as God had said. God could have made the walls instantly fall but he didn’t. Obedience was required for the Victory.
Where in your life do you need Victory? Where in your life do you need walls to fall?
Obedience is the key. Listen, the Lord will instruct. Blessing follows obedience. Breakthrough follows obedience. When we are women set to obey God then we are women set for VICTORY!
The Israelites wandered the wilderness for 40 years because of disobedience. God has a path to the promised land to victory for each of us. Stay the course, run the race and know you are destined for victory.
The Lord wants warriors like Joshua to arise, warriors for Christ. We have too many worriers instead of warriors. Let’s be warriors. We don’t live worrying when we know we have victory.
My prayer for 2019 is that warriors arise knowing and claiming VICTORY is near!!
Praying ,
Michelle
