Reading about John the Baptist this morning. Jesus had came and began baptizing people. John’s disciples began to get jealous. They said, “Everybody is going to Him instead of coming to us.” John’s response was, “I am here to prepare a way for Him.”, “He must become greater & greater & I must become less & less.”

So many times in our lives we are worried someone else might get the credit. Someone else might get the spot light. I might do all this work and not be recognized. Someone else might have the light on them.

What if we all had the response like John? What if we lived our life always thinking He must become greater and greater and I must become less and less? Always living to give Him credit, knowing He deserves all credit.

Let our desire be to live and have the light of Christ inside of us shine so bright that we forget about having the worlds spot light on us. It isn’t enough to have a light on us, we must have THE LIGHT in us. We must live in a way that prepares a way for Him. When we prepare a way for Him in our lives others will find Him when they encounter us. We want to be so saturated in the Holy Spirit that He flows out of us onto others. We must become less & less and He will become greater & greater in our lives.

Lord, I pray with every step of my life I become less and less and you become more and more. Lord, saturate us in your spirit. I pray your light shines through me.
